Meet our Staff

Our owner has been involved in the store from day one. The Dance Bag was open in 1994 and has been locally owned and operated ever since. After graduating from Fresno State in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Sports Medicine, Holly returned to The Dance Bag to take over the business. Since her return the store has increased its pointe shoe styles providing over 25 different options for dancers. Holly grew up dancing in valley and was a member of Bravo! Repertory Dance Theatre (now Central West Ballet). In 1996 she was chosen to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Since that trip she continues to visit New York to attend classes in all styles of dance. Holly is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Sciences, known as IADMS. She regularly attends workshops and lectures in Dance Medicine, and implements her medical knowledge during local fittings and lectures about pointe shoes. Her favorite ballets are Cinderella and Don Quixote, but truly loves any Broadway Musical!

Janae is a graduate of Enochs High School. She is currently a sophomore at Modesto Junior College, and hopes to earn a degree in psychology and business. In regards to dance, Janae has been dancing since she was three years old taking ballet, tap, jazz and modern. She was also a member of the Juline Regional Youth Ballet, for five years and enjoyed performing and traveling with the company. She also hopes to continue dancing through college. She enjoys teaching dance as well as she likes to share her passion for dance with others. Her favorite ballet’s are Jerome Robbins’ The Concert, Cinderella and Peter Pan.

Beth hails from Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her professional career in ballet with Central West Ballet. She has trained all over the United States, and has danced professionally for five years with several companies including Atlanta Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Missouri Ballet Theatre, and Central West Ballet. Prior to moving to Modesto, she worked in a dance store in St. Louis, Missouri for two years. She is excited to be starting her second year with the Dance Bag. In addition to dancing professionally and working at the Dance Bag, Beth enjoys teaching ballet and variations. She hopes to someday become a Ballet Mistress for a large, professional ballet company to share her passion for the art of dance. Beth’s favorite ballets include Sir Fredrick Ashton’s La Fille Mal Gardee, Cinderella, Monotones, and Birthday Offering; and George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Jewels, Serenade, and Who Cares?
